Economy :

I have met my banker this month and told him about the research about a non-Aristotelian economy in the frame of the Zone. He seemed very interested, and is ok to be part of the research. I shall let you know what comes out of it, but if the mayonnaise sets, it might be interesting to do the same in different countries, with other Zoners and their banks being part of a common research. This seems to me a fair use of globalization.

Film : "MANMUSWAK" by Patrick Bernier and Olive Martin with Koulin Mah:

Olive Martin and Patrick Bernier had their film projection "MANMUSWAK" on tuesday june 21st at 19 h at the Espace Kodak, 26 rue Villiot, 75012 Paris (Métro Bercy ou Gare de Lyon) -

MANMUSWAK is about an ordinary day of K., an African man living in France, employed as a watchman, seen through his successive metamorphosis from watched man to watchman.

Man must walk, the man must walk, and K, recent African immigrant in France, does walk : from the outskirts of the city, where he shares a room in a skyscraper, through a waste ground; in the streets of the city center, through a commercial center, int he alleys of the park, on an avenue, in the evening. The city is walked through this way : he takes the measures of it, combs it, lives it through his changes of location which his temporary jobs require. Because the man must live: and to live, he accepts jobs without relation to his formation and level of studies. People from Ivory Coast have a work to qualify the work of those immigrants : djossi, which means "to sweep". Watchman, janitor, bouncer, and other jobs related to security, seem to be nowadays djossi jobs. Apparent paradox : the people systematicly employed in such jobs of control and supervisors are people whom the administration constantly suspects concerning the regularity of their stay on the territory.

Pol'n et Bellamy 17, du Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains and the gallery Maisonneuve.

Anthony has put on line a multimedia work, "Voyelles" at http://screenplayer.free.fr/ The project rests upon a poem of Arthur Rimbaud, "Voyelles" (1871), which uses a poetic correspondence between the vowels, colours and sounds. His work uses an extensive text in which the user can compose his text and edit it to actualize images and videos (240), which invest in an aleatory way a screen devised in 6 equal parts, during the time of visual re/de-composition, while a sound is played.

The Crossroads of Dead Ends forbidden ?

It seems that the English translation of some chapters of Le Carrefour des Impasses is not accessible in Great Britain and leads to a page "Forbidden, you are not allowed to access to this page". (?) I have never had such problems in France, where all my writings are accessible and never led to any censorship of any kind, and do not understand what can look disturbing here from the British side; may be it's not the chapters themselves, but the English translation of the Declaration des Droits de l'Homme et du Citoyen of 1789, which is the base of the French constitution and allows to make the difference between the level of the words and the level of the facts as far as democracy is concerned. As for me, I can witness that I am free to write and print what I want here since a number of years, which is a privilege, compared to other countries. So I am wondering if United Kingdom still is a democracy. Due to the number of poor English people who immigrate to France and get the financial help of the French government, while the rich English speculate with French real estate and double the prices of properties, I am wondering what kind of a game is being played nowadays in UK. Alex Barbier's LYCAON republished :

"Lycaon", a comix by Alex Barbier which puts Burroughs in scene is being republished. Alex was interviewed on the latest week-end by France Culture in the program "Mauvais Genre" about it. For the record, I heard it by random in my car opening the radio, and I heard Burroughs' voice, which is rather rare on French radio. Alex said then that he was very surprised to get a mail from me some years ago about my meeting with Burroughs in the Bunker in 1980, and saying he had Lycaon on his desk, which quite impressed him.
